We all have special photos and keepsakes from cherished ancestors. Why do we keep them tucked away in some drawer? These keepsakes tell a story and I enjoy working with my customers to display that story for others to see and appreciate.
A customer brought some pictures of the Manti Temple and her ancestors who played a part in building it. She asked me to carve something in the mat. I did some research and found a picture of a doorknob plate inside the temple with a unique design. I transferred that design onto the mat and carved it.
A long time ago in a small town far, far away a father would draw little sketches on a paper during church to keep his wiggly daughter quiet. She soon wanted to do what he was doing and took over the sketching. Thus began my interest in art. Little did I know as I studied Graphic Design at BYU that I would take the concepts I learned there and transfer them into a business that has been deeply satisfying over the last 21 years.
I love to interact with my customers and learn about them and the items that they bring me to frame. More often than not, the items they bring have a special meaning which helps me to create a design that enhances the presentation of the memorabilia. My ability to handcarve designs in the matboard is another special service that I offer. I have framed many unique items over the years insomuch that my motto is "You name it, I frame it"
